The city election put a stop to the annexation plans of Littlefield to stick his hands in the pockets of citizens without their approval. Never fear, these plans are alive and well in Collegedale. They will ramp up the process in light of Rep. Carters work to stop it.
I have lived in Ooltewah for over 30 years and never had need of anything from the city of Collegedale. Like most of the people, if I had wanted in Collegedale I would have asked. Collegedale has a mind set of "make hay (money) while the sun shines."
That's what it is all about, money, money, money. If the elected need money, raise the taxes in Collegedale, after all they are the ones who elected you so they won't mind paying more for you to spend. I realize it is easier and little problems with annexation.
There is an old saying that a lawyer can steal more money than a bank robber, but that was before politicians discovered annexation of people's property without permission of owners and reap thousands of dollars from the owners.
Hope Carter can make his bills retroactive.
