UTC Golfers In SunTrust Gator Women's Invitational

The Chattanooga Mocs Spring Break visit to the state of Florida concludes this weekend with the SunTrust Gator Women’s Invitational. It is the fourth consecutive appearance in the tourney for the Mocs.

The event opens Friday, March 15, with 18 holes played per day through Sunday, March 17. It is played on the par 70, 6,074-yard Mark Bostick Course at the University of Florida.

UTC is one of 15 teams in the field which includes some of the top teams from around the country.

There are three top five, four top 10 and seven top 25 teams visiting Gainesville this season. In fact, all 15 teams squaring off this weekend are ranked in the top 100 on Golfstat and Golfweek.

The UTC lineup features junior Marion Duvernay (Publier, France), sophomores Agathe Sauzon (Valence, France) and Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark), along with freshmen Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) and Emily McLennan (Queensland, Australia). Junior Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) and sophomore Porsche Campbell (Vancouver, Canada) are playing as individuals.

Robertson Leading At Signal Mountain

Matt Robertson shot 2-under 69 on Friday and took the opening-round lead in the 77th Signal Mountain Inviational a the Signal Mountain Golf and Country Club.   In the field of 129 players, Robertson leads by one stroke over Riley Davidson. Man Stabbed To Death After Argument

A Chattanooga man was stabbed to death after an argument on Friday night. At approximately 11 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at 101 E 20 th St. where they found the victim, Alexis Lewis, 51, lying on the walkway with a fatal stab wound to his chest.
