  • Thursday, March 14, 2013

There were three separate shootings on Thursday in which it is believed the victims were "targeted."

The first incident occurred at approximately 5:12 p.m. at 3605 Brainerd Road at the Walgreens parking lot. There was an altercation in the lot when the victim ran away and headed towards the Rite Aid across the street. As the victim was fleeing, numerous shots were fired and the 30-year-old victim was struck. The suspects fled and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he initially was listed in critical condition.

The victim was identified as Milton Patrick. He is now listed in stable condition.

The second incident occurred at 719 E 49th St. at approximately 5:46 p.m. where a 28-year-old man was shot in the arm. There was a disorder at the residence when the victim was shot and was later transported to a local hospital via a personally-owned vehicle. His injury is non-life-threatening. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

The victim has been identified as Willie Lansden. He is also listed in stable condition.

Then at 10:51 p.m. Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting at 4107 Tennessee Ave. where they found 22-year-old Anthony Sherard suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was initially listed in critical condition, but is now stable.

It was reported to investigators that Sherard was in the front yard when the suspect(s) shot him and fled in a car.

Detectives believe that all three victims "were targeted by the suspects and that these were not random shootings."
