Fire damaged a home in East Ridge late Thursday night.
The East Ridge Fire Rescue Department was dispatched at 11:16 p.m. to 900 South Seminole Dr. on a report of a fire in a residential structure. Firefighters arrived in three minutes to find heavy smoke and fire coming through the roof of the residence. The occupants had already evacuated the house upon fire department arrival. Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack, containing the fire to the residence’s attic.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no foul play is suspected. The damage is estimated at $65,000.
East Ridge Fire Rescue Department units responding included Squad 1, Squad 2, Engine 1, Engine 2, Quint 1, Support 1, and Rescue 1. Also responding were the East Ridge Police Department and Puckett EMS.
