McCallie, Baylor Post Tournament Soccer Wins

The McCallie boys soccer team defeated Albertville, Al on Friday 7-0 in their second match of the Baylor School tournament. 

Scoring for McCallie (2-0) were Jon Azan (2), Hunter Brock (2), Yuma Doi, Campbell Young and David Barnes.  Registering assists were John Martin Peters, Will Sikes (2), David Barnes, and Timi Coker.

Baylor (2-0-1) also won its match on Friday with a 2-1 win over Huntsville.  Halftime: 0-0  

Huntsville's Bailey Oliver scored the first goal in the 51st minute.

For Baylor, Kyle Johnston scored off an assist from Ramsey Seagle in the 57th minute and Zach Payne scored off an assist from Will Hitchcock in the 78th minute.

Colin Brewer had one save for the Red Raiders.


Christian Pineda Signs With Dalton State

Former Dalton High School runner Christian Pineda, 21, is coming home to run cross country for the new Dalton State team. Pineda signed this week in the James Brown Center on the DS campus. City Council Ad Hoc Committee To Study Moving Elections To August, Adding More Districts, Staggering Terms
