GPS tennis coach Sue Bartlett won her singles match to help Great Britain win its opening match today in the 2013 Senior World Team Tennis Championships in Anatalya, Turkey.
Competing in Pool B of the Women’s 55s, Great Britain defeated Turkey, 3-0, (two singles, one doubles) and will play Ireland on Tuesday.
Playing in the No.2 singles spot, Bartlett defeated Yasemin Dogan, 6-0, 6-0.
Men’s 55s: Chattanooga native Wes Cash and the United States team will have its first match Tuesday against Poland.
The ITF Seniors World Championships take place in Antalya, Turkey this week, with a total of
190 teams from 31 countries competing for trophies in ten age categories.
