Why did it take 36 hours for the report to surface that a police cruiser was shot up and disabled on Saturday night? And in a time when everyone seems pre-occupied with Bushmasters and AR15s, why was it not stated that the assailant almost surely used an AK47 type weapon?
Any street kid knows that a "7.62 shell casing strong enough to stop an engine" is media subterfuge for a 7.62 x 39 mm steel cased round, almost always fired from an AK 47. or a MAK 90 clone.
I think the answer is, when street thugs start firing military weapons like these at patrol cars, and shooting officers multiple times at close range in daylight, we have a serious problem at hand.
