Orchard Knob Middle School Students Attend TCAP Boot Camp

Orchard Knob Middle School students will attend the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Boot Camp Wednesday-Friday at the Chattanoogan Hotel.  

TCAP Boot Camp is designed to give students an opportunity to engage with TCAP style problems, critical thinking skills, and test-taking strategies in a unique and innovative way. By taking students off campus to practice and prepare for testing, staff members and volunteers will be able to focus on the best practices and strategies for high-stakes testing while making the experience exciting and productive for each grade level, officials said.

The speaker on Wednesday for the sixth graders will be UTC Football Coach Russ Huesman.  Coach Lurone Jennings, retired educator, coach and community stakeholder, will speak to the seventh graders on Thursday.  The event will conclude Friday with Eric “The Voice” Foster, radio personality WJTT speaking to the eight graders.

5th Annual Day Camp For Individuals With Autism Set For June 17-20

The fifth annual Camp Spectrum will be held at Lee University’s Helen DeVos College of Education from June 17-20. Man Sought In Murder Of Pregnant Wife On Lovell Road Commits Suicide In Gordon County Motel

Atwood Gets 9-Year Prison Sentence In Traffic Death Of Friend

A man who police said was traveling 70 miles per hour on a side street in St. Elmo when he wrecked and killed one of his close friends was sentenced Monday to nine years in prison.
