A county van crashed into a creek on Tuesday afternoon, injuring an inmate who was a passenger.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office received a call at approximately 1:40 p.m. regarding a single-vehicle traffic crash that occurred in the 1400 block of Aslinger Road. The vehicle was a 2005 Ford E350 van belonging to Hamilton County Public Works.
The investigation conducted by Deputy Robert Stockburger found that the van was entering a curve and went off the right side of the roadway.
The driver then struck a road sign and a tree before overturning and coming to a rest in a small creek.
The van was occupied by one inmate who was transported to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries and the driver, who did not require medical treatment.
