Central High School Senior Has 13 Years Of Perfect Attendance

Andrew Slaten Vicars, 18, has not missed one day of school.  He attended Wallace Smith Elementary and was the first in the history of the school to have perfect attendance all the years he was there, including kindergarten.  He then went on to Hunter Middle School and is now attending Central High School where he has a perfect attendance record. 

Andrew's activities have included football for four years, and was captain his senior year, tennis for two years, wrestling his freshman year, and he has participated in choir and drama for two years.  He recently had knee surgery from an injury in the last game of his senior year, which he scheduled over Christmas break so that he wouldn't have to miss school.

 

Andrew plans to attend UTC in the fall.

Larry Johnson Named Dalton State Business School Dean; Other Faculty Promoted

By a unanimous vote of the faculty of Dalton State’s School of Business, Dr. Larry Johnson has been named the new Dean, and Dr. Mike D’Itri has been named Associate Dean.  Dr. Johnson, also named Professor of Economics, has served the last year as Interim Dean and previously was Associate Dean. 3 Charged In Raleigh With Murder Of Former Cleveland, Tn., Woman

Three people have been charged in Raleigh, N.C., with the murder last week of a 30-year-old woman, who had just moved from Cleveland, Tn.
