Palm Sunday With Parade Of Palms Presented At 1st Centenary United Methodist

Palm Sunday services will be at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, in the sanctuary at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, 419 McCallie Ave. Dr. Doug Fairbanks will speak at the sanctuary services on "A Time of Opportunity," with text from Luke 23:1-49. The Waving of the Palms Parade will begin in the 10:45 a.m. in the sanctuary and then in The Vine. The Rev. Brian Davis will speak at the 10:45 a.m. Vine service on "Got to Know When to Fold 'em," with text from John 19:30 and Luke 23:43-47.

Maundy Thursday services of communion and Tenebrae will be March 28 with dinner at 5:15 p.m. in the Oak Street Center and worship in the sanctuary at 6:15 p.m.

An Easter service for caregivers and care receivers will be at noon on Saturday, March 30, in the sanctuary.

An Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 30, will be at White Oak Park in Red Bank for all ages, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Bring a picnic lunch and an Easter basket. After the egg hunt, enjoy lunch, visit the playground and explore the walking trails. In case of rain, meet in the gym at First Centenary at 11:30 a.m.

The Easter Sunday Celebration on March 31 will be in the sanctuary at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. with bells, brass, organ, the Chancel Choir and conregatonal singing. Dr. Fairbanks will preach.  The Vine will have services at 9:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Stations of the Cross will be on display through Easter, March 31. The journey begins in The Vine lobby, moves across the bridge, passes through the memorial garden and ends in the parlor.


Churchwide Missions Lunch Is Sunday At Signal Mountain Baptist

A churchwide mission lunch will be at noon this Sunday, at Signal Mountain Baptist Church, 939 Ridgeway Ave. All donations for the meal will go toward youth mission trips this summer. City Council Ad Hoc Committee To Study Moving Elections To August, Adding More Districts, Staggering Terms

Officials in the Sheriff's Department said a warrant was not obtained early Saturday morning to go inside a house where over 20 allegedly beer-drinking teens were partying because a magistrate said he was about to get off duty and wouldn't wait over.
