CARTA Executive Director Tom Dugan said the agency plans to forge ahead with a proposed service plan for the increasingly congested Enterprise South Industrial Park.
Mr. Dugan told members of the CARTA board, "We need to come up with a plan and let the funders decide whether there is support for funding it."
He noted that the area includes "Volkswagen and Amazon, and there will probably be more growth."
CARTA officials earlier were in talks with VW officials about service to the facility that has 2,000 employees. However, nothing was worked out.
Mr. Dugan said CARTA is being urged to come up with a plan by City Council members Carol Berz, Russell Gilbert and others.
Access to Enterprise South is currently mainly by personal auto.
