Pets can be wonderful companions to children and provide a great lesson in responsibility. However, parents can sometimes end up caring for the pet. Creative Discovery Museum announces Pet Vet Day on April 6, an event that will teach children that pets need the proper care and attention as they do.
During Pet Vet Day, children and families will be able to meet different types of pets, including: cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters, ferrets, birds, fish and snakes. Children and families will also be able meet border collies from FlyOn Border Collies and golden retrievers from Me and My Dogs, learn how to avoid dog bites and diagnose common pet ailments with a real veterinarian.
“Kids and pets are a winning combination on all fronts,” said Karen Dewhirst, Museum Science manager. “I hope children will come away with an understanding that pets have the same basic needs as children for healthy food, exercise, discipline, training, shelter, grooming and regular health care.”
All Pet Vet Day activities are included with paid admission to the museum. For more information, please visit the museum's website.
