Margaret Ryan Crimmins Kaiser died on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Alexian Health Care Center on Signal Mountain.

Margaret was born June 11, 1925 in Chattanooga. She attended All Saints School and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She attended Mary Mount College, Tarrytown, N.Y., and in 1948, graduated from the University of Chattanooga, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women.

Margaret was manager of the record department, owned by Rolly and Catherine Curtis, on the mezzanine at Loveman’s Department Store in downtown Chattanooga and was also a buyer and manager of The Top Shop gift shop on Lookout Mountain.

An active community volunteer, Margaret was a past sustaining member of the Junior League of Chattanooga, the Junior League Garden Club, the Ladies of Charity, the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera Guild, READ Chattanooga, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and was a former member the Lookout Mountain Fairyland Club. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church prior to her move to Alexian Village on Signal Mountain.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Walter Kaiser, Jr. and her parents, Margaret Ryan and John B. Crimmins, all of Lookout Mountain, Tn.

She is survived by her children, Mary Anne (Rick) Williams and Herbert W. (Julie) Kaiser, III and grandson, Samuel Herbert Kaiser; her brother, John B. (Marie) Crimmins, Jr. and sister, Anne C. Awad; and niece and nephews, John (Debbie) Crimmins III, Ward (Sally) Crimmins, Meg Crimmins Beene, Ryan (Boofie) Crimmins and Chris (Susan) Crimmins. She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews, Jenny Beene (Sam) Gunn, Charlotte Beene, John Crimmins IV, Ryan, Jr. (Melissa), Conley and Bryson Crimmins, and Will and Elizabeth Crimmins. Many a pleasant hour was passed on the front porch of their home on Lookout Mountain. The family wishes to thank the staff of Alexian Health Care Center, Palliative Care Service and Hospice of Chattanooga for their devoted care to Margaret over the years.
