Tommy Jett Entertainer’s Reunion Set For April 21

Friday, March 22, 2013

The 16th Annual Tommy Jett Entertainer’s Reunion will be held in the Silver Ballroom at the historic Sheraton Read House in downtown Chattanooga on Sunday, April 21, from 1-11 p.m.

The proceeds this year will go to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank which meets the emergency food needs of over 20,000 people every week in the surrounding 20 counties.  A donation for the Food Bank will be requested at the door.

The Tommy Jett Entertainer’s Reunion was created by Tommy Jett, who has been a local Chattanooga Broadcast Celebrity for over 52 years.  Over the years, Tommy Jett has raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities such as:  the Shriner’s Burn Unit, the March of Dimes, the American Diabetes Association, Chattanooga hurricane victims, Nashville flood victims, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and Chattanooga Hospice.

The Malemen are the featured band, along with the Stratoblasters, the Robby Hopkins Band, Crossfire, Paul Smith and the Skyhigh Band, Queen B and the Well Strung Band, and Raven featuring Stacy Wilson.  Thom Cavin and the Chattanooga Songwriter’s Association will do a special presentation to the memory of Rev. Gene Coleman, who was the chaplain of and helped plan many of the reunions.  Rev. Coleman passed away late last year.

An early list of sponsors for this year include Pioneer Credit, Rick’s Gold & Diamonds, The Sheraton Read House and ChattanoogaEntertainers.Com.

Mr. Jett will be making the rounds of the local TV and radio stations in the next few weeks to promote this year’s reunion and to offer additional details as they become available.

For additional information and questions about the reunion, contact Tommy Jett at 488-3322, Becki DeBord at 488-8106, Craig Tyndall at 802-9130 or Linda McReynolds with the Chattanooga Food Bank at 622-1800 ext. 218.

Location Of The Delta Queen Is The Problem

The Delta Queen is a magnificent part of history and in many ways I'm pleased she is in town. Having the boat where she is is the problem. The crew take many of the parking spots around the park leaving families to park across Frazier and schlep their kids, strollers and picnics to the park. You don't get fireworks ... (click for more)

Last May ... (click for more)
