Gunfire In East Chattanooga Injures Man, 22, Another, 19

Two young men were injured during gunfire that broke out in East Chattanooga early Saturday morning.

At approximately 12:27 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a person shot call at 2108 E Main St. where they located Leon McClain, 22, suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A few minutes later, officers responded to another local hospital regarding a person shot that occurred in the 1300 block of Buckley Street. Officers arrived and spoke with Jermichael Brooks, 19, who had been shot in the arm.

Investigators were able to determine that both McClain and Brooks were in an altercation at 1300 Buckley St., when shots were fired and both were injured. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this point. The injuries to both parties were non-life-threatening.
