World War II Veteran And USS Indianapolis Survivor To Be Honored On Monday At The Capitol

The 108th General Assembly of the Tennessee State Senate will recognize United States Navy Veteran and World War II hero Louis Erwin for his effort in World War II. 

The now 88-year-old hero will receive a "Tennessee State Resolution" sponsored by State Representative Bo Watson. Mr. Erwin, along with his fellow ship mates, played a significant role in helping end WWII. Mr. Erwin is one of 41 survivors left today from the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis. He is a resident of East Ridge. 

The award presentation will take place on Monday, in Senate Chambers at the State Capitol Building in Nashville.
