East Ridge Citizens Are Taking Control With Neighborhood Watch

Sunday, March 31, 2013

I live in East Ridge and as everyone who has not been under a rock the last few years know that we have had a few issues here with politics and so on. Now there is something that has put pride back in my heart and that is the East Ridge Neighborhood watch program.

The program is a project overseen by East Ridge native Mark Brandt.  This group is not composed of armed vigilantes running all over the city like super heroes fighting crime. They are a group of concerned citizens who are tired of the criminal activity that seems to be spreading in every city in America.

The East Ridge Police Department does a great job with the resources that they have, but no one can be everywhere all of the time. The group's membership is growing leaps and bounds and what this tells me is that the citizens of East Ridge are taking control of their city and and taking a bite out of crime.

I know, part of Northpoint is privately owned, by not the most. Just about everywhere you go the streets are in terrible shape. We need to get this resolved.  Joan Smith Chattanooga (click for more)
