Auditions For Sideways Stories From Wayside School Are March 11-12

Auditions for the Youth Theatre production of "Sideways Stories from Wayside School" will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 11 and 12, from 4:30–6:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre.

"Sideways Stories from Wayside School" – the final production of the Youth Theatre’s 2012-2013 season – is by John Olive and is based on the book by Louis Sachar, author of "Holes." The production will be presented May 10–19, with daytime school shows on May 16 and 17. Maria Chattin-Carter will direct the play.

The story is about the strange activities at Wayside School where everything is unusual, including the building, the teachers, and the students who go there. But a very special teacher finds a way to help each of the kids learn in his or her unique way.

Roles in the play, with age and gender guidelines, are as follows:

Mrs. Gorf: female, teen
Myron: male, 4th-7th grader
Bebe: female, 4th-7th grader
Leslie: female, 4th-7th grader
Rondi: female, 4th-7th grader
Dameon: male, 4th-7th grader
Louis: male, teen
Mrs. Jewls: female, teen
Sammy: male or female, 4th-7th grader
Miss Zarves: female, teen
Mr. Pickle: male, teen
Miss Valooosh: female, teen
Mr. Gorf: male, teen
Mrs. Kidswater: nonspeaking, female teen

Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
