Terpsichord, the contemporary dance company of Girls Preparatory School, will present “Nexus” on Friday and Saturday. The performance will be held in the Frierson Theatre at GPS at 7 p.m. both nights. Admission is free and no tickets are required.
A new work by Jillian Harris, dance professor at Temple University in Philadelphia, will be part of the program that includes choreography of local professionals Laurel Moore Zahrobsky and Caroline Walker. The GPS Singers will be highlighted in collaboration with the Terpsichord dancers for one performance of the evening.
The remaining works are choreographed by students and incorporate props, text and music.
Members of the company directed by Cathie Kasch and assisted by Laurel Zahrobsky are Jane Jestus, president; Rachel Durham, vice president; seniors Carly Crowder, Betsy Henson, May-May Hitchings, Jan Johnston, Mclean Miller, Rebecca Rose, and Olivia Townsend; juniors Emma Berry, Lexie Brzezienski, Kristen Carter, Margaret Clark, Mary Chandler Gwin, Rachel Hadden, Shannon Han, Danielle Richardson, Leah Russell, and Bonnie St. Charles; sophomores Sarah Green, Nia Sanders, Mary Lillian Tessman and Meg Winchester.
