Lightning struck a house in the Dallas Bay area Tuesday morning. A 911 call at 11:41 a.m. reported a fire at 1838 Cotter Lane.
The Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded and arrived within minutes. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one wall in the house.
Chief Marcus Fritts reported that lightning struck the house and came through an electrical outlet inside the home.
No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries.
Damages are listed at $5,000. The homeowner, Jay Bell, is insured.
