Lookouts Hold Inaugural Fan Fest March 16

The Chattanooga Lookouts will be holding the team’s first-ever Fan Fest on Saturday, March 16th at AT&T Field. The free event, which will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., will involve a full line-up of fun activities for all fans. Additionally, single-game tickets for the 2013 season will officially go on sale at the start of the event.

During Fan Fest, fans will have the opportunity to take a stadium tour, record a home run call in the Lookouts Radio Booth, hit in the Lookouts’ batting cage, check out the speed of their fastball, purchase game-used memorabilia, and take part in numerous other games, giveaways, and activities.

Additionally, children will have the chance to take part in an art contest in which the winner’s piece will be featured in the final edition of the 2013 Lookouts program. Also, Fan Fest will offer face painting, and the Lookouts’ mascots will be on hand to interact with fans.

In addition to individual tickets going on sale, fans will have the opportunity to purchase an Opening Day general admission ticket season ticket for just $1 by attending Fan Fest. Fans can also receive a free general admission ticket to Opening Day by putting a canned food item into Lookouts’ Dodger Blue antique truck, which will be located outside on the outside plaza, to benefit the Chattanooga Area Food Bank.

Season ticket holders will also be able to pick up their tickets during the event.
The Chattanooga Lookouts begin their 2013 regular season on April 4h against the Huntsville Stars at AT&T Field.

Chattanooga FC Host Storm Saturday

The Chattanooga Football Club returns home Saturday night after a two game road stretch that resulted in back-to-back losses.  Chattanooga FC will host the Mississippi Storm Saturday at Finley Stadium.  Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. After opening their season with a 5-0 win over Rocket City United on May 11 the Chattanooga team competed in the US Open Cup on May 14 ... Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
