Soddy Daisy Police Say Juvenile Was Making Threats Against Middle School Students; To Face Charges

Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hambrick said a juvenile has been identified as the person making threats to harm Soddy-Daisy Middle School students.

Chief Hambrick said, "The threats appeared to be a hoax, but charges will be pending through Hamilton County Juvenile Court.

"I would like the acknowledge the efforts of our detectives and Detective Ashburn of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Offices in their efforts to resolve this case."

There was heightened security at the school this week after the posting of the Internet threats.

The criminal investigation has been completed by the CPD Family Violence Unit; however, the internal affairs investigation is still ongoing.
