UTC Women's Golf Team Tied For Eighth At Eagle Landing Invitational

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team is tied for eighth after 18 holes at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational. UTC shot 302 and is tied with Stetson and East Carolina.

It is her first under par round as a collegian. She birdied holes five, 10 and 11 to get to three-under par where she stayed until a bogey on 15. She bogeyed 18 for her final tally. She is tied for fourth, two strokes behind Ally McDonald (Miss. St.) and Frida Gustafsson Spang (E. Carolina).

Sophomore transfer Agathe Sauzon (Valance, France) is next for UTC tied for 34th at 76. She is a shot ahead of Mette Kryger (Nivaa, Denmark) at 77 with Isabella Loza (Bucaramanga, Colombia) rounding out the counting scores with a 78. Jordan Britt (Chattanooga, Tenn.) had the drop score with an 80.

Two Mocs played as individuals today. Porsche Campbell fired a 75 (+3) to tie for 21st. Marion Duvernay tied Loza with a 78.

Campbell and Elon are the team leaders after opening with five-over par totals of 293. Old Dominion is third at 296 with host James Madison checking in fourth at 297.

Chattanooga is first off the tee in the morning on No. 1 playing with Georgia State and Stetson. It’s a 8 a.m., first tee time with Britt leading off. Woman Found Dead On Lovell Road; Police Looking For Terry Releford

A woman was found dead on Sunday morning at 8912 Lovell Road, and police are seeking a "person of interest" in the case. Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."
