Harrison Ruritan Club Fish-Fry, Bluegrass Jamboree Is Saturday

The annual Harrison Ruritan Club's fish fry in conjunction with its monthly bluegrass jamboree will be held on Saturday.   

The fish fry will be from 3-9 p.m and the cost is $7 and includes coffee and tea.

There will be clogging at 4:30 p.m., storytelling at 5:30 p.m. and the bluegrass bands will perform from 6-9 p.m. 

Admission to the entertainment is free the Harrison Ruritan Club is asking for donations. 

The event will be held at the Harrison Ruritan Clubhouse next to Harrison Elementary School. 

The proceeds will benefit community service projects including scholarships, donations to recreation leagues, fire department, Friends of Harrison Bay State Park and more.

Closure On East 3rd Street For Construction Project On Friday

Contractor Embark Project Services will be operating a concrete pumping truck on East 3rd Street, between Market Street and Cherry Street for the purpose of pouring walls at the Jax Liquors renovation project.  The closure is scheduled for Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.  Detours will be posted. Commissioner Graham Chides Chairman Bankston For Shredding Arts Cigarette Tax Letter; Says Sunshine Law Violated

County Commissioner Joe Graham on Wednesday chided Chairman Chester Bankston for shredding a letter related to the proposed cigarette tax to aid the arts.
