James Drake
James Dillon Drake, 89, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, April 18, 2013.
He was a member of the Local 267 SMART (sheet metal), and a member of Hickory Valley Christian Church since 1950 (Deacon Emeritus). He always had a servant's heart.
He had many friends and was an active member at Memorial Cardiac Rehab. He loved all his neighbors at Woodmore Acres (mayor of Drummond Drive) where he spent many hours maintaining his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Uriah York and Ella Mae Drake; and brothers, Bill and Bob Drake.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gaynell Drake; daughters, Lou Ann Drake and Jenny (Ronald) Allen; grandchildren, Rebecca Allen (Adam) Bryan; Richard (Callie Phillips) Allen; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, at Hickory Valley Christian Church with Reverend Gary Armes and Reverend Dale Lovelady officiating. Burial will on Monday, April 22, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
