Erlanger Hosts Free Cardiovascular Education And Screenings During Dare To C.A.R.E

  • Thursday, April 18, 2013

Erlanger Health System has partnered with a national non-profit organization, Dare to C.A.R.E, to provide cardiovascular disease education and screenings to residents in Chattanooga and surrounding communities on Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Erlanger East campus on Gunbarrel Road

Anyone who is over 50 years old or who is older than 40 with high risk criteria such as a person who smokes, suffers from diabetes, has high cholesterol and/or symptoms of peripheral vascular disease, should take advantage of this free event.

The goal for this program is to raise awareness of the devastating effects of cardiac and vascular disease and to decrease the number of incidences of stroke, ischemia and heart attacks in our communities.  Board certified vascular surgeons, cardiologists and other healthcare providers will conduct mini lecture series and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in blood pressure readings, glucose/lipid screenings, extremity arteries measurements and carotid/aortic ultrasounds.

Registration is required for the lecture series and screenings.  Call Erlanger's HealthLink at 423 778-LINK (5465), Monday - Friday, from 8 a.m. to midnight, for more information and to pre-register.
