Bradley Central Clips McMinn County To Keep Top Spot In 5-AAA

Bradley Central’s Jacob Maynard pitched and hit the Bears to a 2-1 victory over visiting McMinn County on Monday to maintain the top spot in the District 5-AAA baseball title chase.

The Bears are 11-4 overall and 5-0 in league play going into Tuesday’s game against the Cherokees in Athens.

McMinn County fell to 2-13 and 2-5.

Maynard scattered seven hits and struck out eight in running his record to 4-0 on the season. He also added a run-scoring hit.

Brently White pushed the Bears’ other run across with an RBI hit.
