New Trial To Be Set In Case Of Stabbing Death Of 15-Year-Old Girl

A new trial date will be selected next week in the case involving the Dec. 19, 2011, stabbing death of 15-year-old Shaviya Vinson.

There was a hung jury last week on charges of first-degree murder against Temekia Reed. The jury was hung 10-2 in favor of conviction.

Criminal Court Judge Rebecca Stern ruled it was a mistrial.

Attorney Michael Thomas was allowed to withdraw from the case.

The new lawyer for Ms. Reed is Chrissy Mincy.
