An information has been filed in Federal Court charging that tax preparer Dedric Landrum assisted in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return.
The information says the return was prepared for the tax year 2008 for an unidentified client. It says the return represented that the taxpayer was entitled to take certain deductions resulting in a taxable income of $46,899.
It says Landrum "well knew the taxpayer was only entitled to claim deductions resulting in a taxable income of $78,570."
John MacCoon is prosecuting the case.
