Body Of Missing East Ridge Man Found Under Resident's Deck

The body of a missing East Ridge man has been found under a resident's deck.

East Ridge Police on Monday responded to 5313 Weaver St. in response to a report of the resident discovering a body. Upon arriving on the scene police were able to identify the deceased as Jerry Matthews, who was reported missing earlier this week.

The death investigation is ongoing. The death is not being considered suspicious in nature.

Mr. Matthews, 65, of 5306 Weaver St., was last seen at about 8 pm on Saturday by neighbors at his residence.

On Sunday morning he was reported missing by a family member who had come by to check on him at about 11:15 a.m.
