David Blackburn, a senior associate athletics director for administration at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, is one of three finalists for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga athletics director position chattanoogan.com has learned.

Blackman has more than two decades of experience in collegiate athletics administration at UT, including compliance, fund raising, multiple sport management, athletic facility management and football operations.

In 2003, Blackburn became an assistant athletics director for development.

In 2007 he was promoted to associate athletics director for administration and earned his current title in 2008.

A native of Loudon, Tenn., Blackburn is a 1990 graduate of UT.

Only 2 Bradley County Commissioners Support 30-Cent Wheel Tax

After a lengthy debate, only two members of the Bradley County Commission voted in favor of a 30-cent wheel tax on Monday night. The measure needed 10 votes to pass. Several commissioners said a wheel tax would have certainly brought on a petition for a referendum and then defeat at the polls. Agent Says Drug-Selling Traffic Was So Brisk Outside Brainerd Pill Mill That A Guard Was Necessary

An IRS agent testified Monday that so much drug peddling was going on outside a Brainerd "pill mill" that the owner had to hire a security guard.
