Nancy Ward Chapter Of DAR Helped With Pow Wow On The River

Tuesday, April 9, 2013

The Nancy Ward Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolutions members joined the Pow  Wow on the River, volunteering their time to help with the event.

Tammera Hicks, a prospective member of the Nancy Ward chapter, was the coordinator for the weekend event that was sponsored by the Native American services. Competitive dancers drummers and flute players made a colorful display for the visitors.

Veterans, Native American or not, were honored in a procession for recognition of their sacrifices.

Visitors could purchase crafts or sample buffalo burgers as they enjoyed the day.

DAR volunteers manned the entrances, passed out programs, and helped where needed.
