Signal Mountain Genealogical Society Meets June 4

The Signal Mountain Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4, at the Walden Town Hall, 1836 Taft Highway.  The meeting will begin with refreshments followed by the business session and program at 1:30 p.m.  The guest speaker for the June meeting, Rufus Williamson will present a program, “Using DNA to Enhance your Genealogical Research.”  Visitors are welcome.

 


James County Historical Society Meeting February 7

The next meeting of the James County Historical Society will be Sunday, February 7.at 2:30pm at the Ooltewah United Methodist Church. This month we will have a presentation about early American flags. It will be given by Gene and Ruth Merkel, dressed as President George and Martha Washington. Charges Will Not Be Filed Against Officers In Javario Eagle Case

Medal Of Honor Museum Hopes To Finally Find Permanent Home At Coolidge Park

Officials of the National Medal of Honor Museum said Wednesday they hope to finally find a permanent home at Coolidge Park. Bill Raines said it is planned to build a two-story, 6,800-square-foot domed museum on two acres at the park. It will be dedicated to Medal of Honor recipient Charles H. Coolidge, who is now 94.
