Student From Chattanooga Wins Geoscience Award At Tennessee Tech

David Hunter, a student at Tennessee Tech, was one of five students to receive a winning department scholarship.

On April 22, more than 200 students, parents, family, and friends assembled in the Tech Pride Room at the university, to acknowledge many of the outstanding students, including five geosciences students. Bryan Blackburn, Heather Harris, David Hunter, and Audrey Pattat were recognized for winning department scholarships.

Northwest Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Falls To 6.4 Percent In November

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that the unemployment rate in the Northwest Georgia region was 6.4 percent in November, down six-tenths of a percentage point from 7.0 percent in October. A man was stabbed multiple times in a disorder on MLK Boulevard on Thursday afternoon. At approximately 4:06 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to a stabbing at 300 E. MLK Boulevard.
