Student From Chattanooga Wins Geoscience Award At Tennessee Tech

David Hunter, a student at Tennessee Tech, was one of five students to receive a winning department scholarship.

On April 22, more than 200 students, parents, family, and friends assembled in the Tech Pride Room at the university, to acknowledge many of the outstanding students, including five geosciences students. Bryan Blackburn, Heather Harris, David Hunter, and Audrey Pattat were recognized for winning department scholarships.

Brianna Jones Awarded La'Shanna Trout Memorial Scholarship

Brianna Jones of Knoxville was awarded a $1,000 La'Shanna Trout Memorial Scholarship Award from the Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation. Ms. Jones graduated from Halls High School in 2012, and attends the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.  The Tennessee Grocers Education Foundation presented 140 scholarships this year valued at $157,050 to students in the food industry.  ... Motorcyclist Dies In East Brainerd Crash Sunday Night

A motorcyclist died in a crash in East Brainerd on Sunday night. At approximately 10:07 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department responded to 8776 Igou Gap Road. It was found that t he motorcyclist left the roadway for unknown reasons. T he rider was pronounced deceased on scene by HCEMS. I nvestigators are working to determine the cause of the crash. Erlanger Chooses Epic Software For New $100 Million Electronic Medical Records System; CEO Judy Faulkner To Visit Chattanooga

Erlanger CEO Kevin Spiegel announced that the Chattanooga hospital has chosen Epic Systems for a new electronic medical records system that he said will cost close to $100 million over 10 years.
