Brainerd Baptist Churchwide Fellowship At Harrison Bay State Park Is Sunday

A Brainerd Baptist Church churchwide fellowship will be at Harrison Bay State Park this Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Bring a side dish. Serving will begin at 5 p.m. A baptism in the lake will follow at 6.  

The Saints Alive --Adults 55 and over -- will have their monthly meeting Thursday, May 23, at 10 a.m  in BX Loft. Lunch will be $6.

County Commission Told To Fully Fund County Schools Improvement Request Would Take 28 1/2-Cent Property Tax Increase; 78 School Personnel Would Be Added

County Mayor Jim Coppinger told members of the County Commission at a budget workshop on Tuesday that it would take a 28 1/2-cent property tax increase to fully fund the county school budget request. Criminal Court Judge Don Poole has ruled that the state can introduce at the murder trial of Billy Hawk testimony about his alleged drug involvement with the victim in the case, Johnny Mack Salyer.
