Man Sought In Murder Of Pregnant Wife On Lovell Road Commits Suicide In Gordon County Motel

Terry Lee Releford, who police were seeking in the the murder of his pregnant wife Tammy Releford on Lovell Road on Sunday, has taken his own life.

On Monday, Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies working with Georgia law enforcement and the United States Marshall Service located the 34-year-old Releford at the Budget Inn motel at 1442 U.S. Highway 41 in Gordon County, Ga.

Communication with Releford was established, but Releford apparently ended his own life with a single gunshot to the head.

Georgia law enforcement will be conducting the investigation into the death of Releford.

Ms. Releford was found dead on Sunday morning at the couple's residence at 8912 Lovell Road, and he was being sought in the case.

Deputies responded to that location at approximately 8 a.m. on a suspicious death. On arrival "deputies found a dead female in her 30s deceased from an apparent homicide."

Releford was in the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry at the 8912 Lovell Road address.

It says he had two aggravated rape cases in 1997.
