The River Gallery June exhibition is Inside and Out and features self-taught and long-time gallery artist Russell Whiting. The gallery will also be celebrating the Sculpture Garden's 20th anniversary.
Mr. Whiting's sculpture will be on exhibit both inside River Gallery and outside in River Gallery Sculpture Garden. He uses the acetylene torch in his carving techniques to create his steel sculptures. He is influenced by classical forms executed with contemporary concepts. His imagery stems from sources such as religion, ancient cultures, and cinema which result in fusions of the past and present.
There will be an opening reception on Saturday, June 1, from 6:30-8 p.m. and will a garden stroll with Mr. Whiting. The event is free and open to the public
