McCallie two-time state champion and USA Wrestling High School All-American Alex Elsea will enroll at Duke University in the fall and wrestle for the Blue Devils.

"I'll have the challenging academics I want, the D1 wrestling I love, plus my best friend and training partner of four years, Houston Clements, 20 minutes away wrestling at UNC," said Elsea who will compete at the 125 pound class.

"Duke has been my dream school for years, and I can honestly say there's no school anywhere in the United States that I'd rather be attending next year."

Elsea had a successful final semester at McCallie as he won his second state wrestling title in February followed by being a member of the school's national championship Finance Team.

He graduated with a 3.80 GPA and took 10 Advanced Placement courses and seven Honors Program courses.

Roy Exum: Tracy’s Idiotic Blunder

It’s no secret that I’m not a big fan of Rep. Scott DesJarlais, the repugnant Congressman from Tennessee’s 4 th District, but Jim Tracy sure didn’t do himself any favors when the state senator took the Jasper physician to task for past indiscretions in a tawdry mailer that was just mass-mailed to voters. Gutter politics could get Tracy beaten when voters go to the polls on Aug. ... (click for more)
