Mary Crowder
Mary D. Crowder, 98, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, May 25, 2013.
She was a retired bookkeeper, and dress shop owner, wife and mother who enjoyed laughing, fashion and traveling. Mary was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ and a member of the Public Accountants Association.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, James Ernest York, Charles Ray York, William Raggio York and daughter, Margie Crowder Longacre.
Mary is survived by her son, Curtis Crowder; sister, Julia Elizabeth York Dudney; son-in-law, Byron Longacre; sister-in-law, Marie York; six grandchildren, Karen Aaron, Dan Longacre, Tammie Crowder, Mark Crowder, Lina Arendale and Nancy Holland; 14 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, at the North Chapel.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday at the North Chapel with Minister David Schonhoff officiating.
