20-Year-Old Shot On Bennett Avenue

Police said a 20-year-old man was shot in the back on Bennett Avenue late Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 5:28 p.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a shooting near 1622 Bennett Ave. They found the victim, Spencer McPherson, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back.  

He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.  

It was reported that the victim was sitting inside a car in the alley near this residence when the suspect shot him.

Hixson Man Charged With Defrauding Investors

A Hixson man has been charged by federal authorities with defrauding investors. Richard Alan Bazzell was charged with mail fraud. Authorities said he formed TrailSteaks LLC, a snack food distribution company, as well as Prosperitas Capital, which was to be a parent company of small businesses.
