Dalton Firefighter Places In Georgia Police And Fire Games

The Georgia Police and Fire Games held the Toughest Overall Competitor event Monday.  The event features a challenging obstacle course and a 1.7 mile run.

Officer Valerian Khoshtariya with the Chamblee Police Department took first place with a time of 19:25.  Firefighter Douglas Kerns with the Dalton Fire Department took second place with a time of 20:12 and Officer Mike Baller with the Chamblee Police Department came in third with a time of 20:28. 

The Dalton Police Department had two officers in the field, Officer Serena Martin (35:10) and Officer Jason Thompson (24:52).  Dalton Firefighter Josh Shoemaker finished the course in 24:21.   


Whitfield County Fire Department Holds Recruit Graduation Ceremony

Big Woody's Tree Service Employee Killed In Fall On Signal Mountain

An employee of Woody's Tree Service fell to his death 150 feet off a bluff while trimming trees on Signal Mountain on Wednesday.
