Citizen Tells City Council East Lake Now "Like The Wild, Wild West"

Tuesday, June 18, 2013

An East Lake resident told City Council members on Tuesday night that the crime situation in his neighborhood has gotten so bad that it is "like the Wild, Wild West."

He said people walk by his house making motions like they are firing a gun at him.

The man said his family has been in East Lake since the 1960s, but he said his parents are now scared.

"It's getting worse," he said.

He said he would not back down from the stares and threats.

The man said when he was threatened recently, he cocked an unloaded shotgun. He said it did not faze those passing by.
