Kathy Lea Russell, 53, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. 

Mrs. Russell was born in Atlanta, to the late Fred and Mary McMickle.  She was a graduate of the University of Georgia.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who successfully homeschooled her daughters and also enjoyed gardening and pottery.

Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Curtis V. Russell; daughters, Kelsey (Jonathan) Boling of Chattanooga and Alexandra S. Russell of East Ridge; granddaughter, Charis A. Boling; sisters, Patricia M. Davis of Ringgold, and Karen A. McMickle of Ooltewah.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, and 12-1 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, at the funeral home. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 23 at the funeral home with Dale Lovelady officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

Memorial donations may be made to Tennessee Donor Services, 1600 Hayes Street, Suite 300, Nashville, TN 37203, Attn: Family Care Department.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory, and Florist, 404 South Moore Road.

Catoosa Man Convicted Of Sexual Abuse Of 5 Young Girls Gets Life Plus 250 Years

A Catoosa County man convicted of the sexual abuse of five young girls and possession of child pornography has been sentenced to life plus 250 years. James Martin Ferris, 34, was found guilty after a recent trial. The day after his conviction, Judge Ralph Van Pelt set the sentence.
