Which MIchael Flores Is Which In Braves' System

Braves' Minor League Report: Saturday

Saturday, June 22, 2013 - by David Jenkins
There seems to be quite a bit of confusion on which Michael Flores is which in the Braves' system in 2013.

First of all, both seem to be bona fide pitching prospects. The Michael Flores who started Friday for Danville is a Dominican Republic native, a left-hander who has grown to around 6-3, 180. His impressive 2012 for the DSL (5-3, 1.71 in 14 starts) earned him DSL Pitcher of the Year award and a stateside promotion. His 2013 season debut was equally strong: five innings, two hits, one walk and nine big strikeouts.

Pitching for the Gulf Coast Braves this year will be Michael A. Flores, a 6-foot-8 right-hander from San Diego. This is the Mike Flores that was the Braves' 24th round pick last year and who was 1-0 in 11 relief appearances for the short-season club.and is slated to return there in 2013.
