"The Problem With Sin And The Need For Salvation" Is Sunday's Topic At Brainerd UMC

Dr. Dennis Flaugher will begin a new four-week sermon series this Sunday, at Brainerd United Methodist Church, 4315 Brainerd Road, on what United Methodist Christians really believe about sin and salvation. His topic at the 9 and 11` sanctuary a.m. services will be "The Problem With Sin and the Need for Salvation," with text from Luke 9:51-62. 

A welcoming reception honoring two new staff members, the Rev.

Mark Davis and Karen Stoll, will follow the 11 a.m. service in the Atrium. A flute and piano recital will be at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary featuring Ronda Benson Fore, flute; Jenny Cline, flute, and Evelyn Dias, piano. The recital is free.

Bazaar, Barbecue And Fish Fry Will Be Held Saturday At Washington Hills UMC

Washington Hills UMC will be having a Bazaar/Barbecue/Fish Fry this Saturday from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The Barbecue/Fish Fry is sponsored by the Methodist Men and all profits go towards replacing a heat pump in the sanctuary.  The church is located just off Bonny Oaks Drive at LaGuana Drive. Community Devotion Next Thursday At BCSO

Sheriff Eric Watson announces a public Community Devotion on Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the Community Room of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office.   Pastor Charlie Campbell of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ocoee will bring an uplifting, positive message during the event, which should last between 20 to 30 minutes.  The public is invited to attend. Attorney Gary Patrick said Chattanooga is "the most logical place for consolidating the Volkswagen litigation because it is the only location in the country where VW vehicles are being produced." Woman Stabbed To Death On Hooker Road; Man Injured; Suspect Being Interviewed

A young woman was stabbed to death on Hooker Road early Friday morning and a man was injured. At approximately 1:54 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a stabbing at the 4000 block of Hooker Road.
