CarFit Event For Senior Drivers Friday in Dalton

The Dalton Police Department will conduct CarFit check-ups in Dalton on Friday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Dalton-Whitfield Senior Center, 302 Cappes St. next to the Dalton-Whitfield Library. CARTA’s Labor Day Schedule

In observance of Labor Day, there will be no CARTA fixed route bus service or North Shore Shuttle service on Monday.  The Downtown Shuttle will operate on a holiday schedule, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.  The CARTA Care-a-van service will also be operating on a holiday schedule.     All CARTA bus services will resume regular weekday schedules ... City Sound Control Ordinance Goes Into Effect In 30 Days

A controversial Downtown Sound Control Ordinance will go into effect in 30 days after being approved by the City Council on second reading. Councilwoman Carol Berz said she believes it is a good ordinance, but not a perfect one, and that it should be under continual review for possible revisions. Boy, 15, Shot In The Shoulder On Taylor Street

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the shoulder on Taylor Street on Tuesday night. At approximately 7 p.m., Chattanooga Police received a call of shots fired in the area of 3200 Taylor  and were advised at 7:22 p.m. that a person arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.
