  • Wednesday, June 5, 2013

Nathan DeWild, director of photography at Journey Films and 2011 graduate of Southern Adventist University, worked on "The Adventists 2," a documentary scheduled to air nationally on PBS stations this September.

"The Adventists 2" explores the mission and heritage of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s global health and humanitarian outreach. The film, currently available on DVD, is a sequel to “The Adventists,” a 2010 documentary that followed the origins of the Adventist Church’s health message and ministry in the United States.

"The Adventists 2" tells the stories of six individual mission teams stationed throughout the world.  Filming of the documentary took place in Haiti, Brazil, Malawi, China, Peru and the Dominican Republic.

Mr. DeWild graduated from Southern with a Bachelor of Science in film production. Prior to his position at Journey Films, he worked as a first assistant cameraman on independent features.
