Preferred Care At Home Moves To New Office In Downtown Chattanooga

  • Thursday, June 6, 2013

After opening its doors three years ago as part of the INCubator at the Hamilton County Business Development Center, Preferred Care at Home has graduated from the program and acquired new office space in downtown Chattanooga.

Preferred Care at Home is a home care agency that specializes in providing customized daily assistance to seniors, enabling clients to maintain their safety and independence in the home of their choosing.

“I can’t thank the staff at the Business Development Center enough for all of their guidance in our formative years," said John L. Kerns, owner and president of Preferred Care at Home.  "The INCubator program played no small part in our becoming one of the foremost senior care agencies in Chattanooga,“ but our new office will even better allow us to deliver the compassionate and reliable care for which we have become known.”

Preferred Care at Home’s new office is in the Carpenters Commons Building at 518 Georgia Ave.  To celebrate the move, Preferred Care at Home will hold a reception and ribbon cutting on June 20 from 4-7 p.m..  “We want to have an event not only to celebrate the work we've done thus far, but also to thank the many senior care professionals that we work with each day in this community,” Mr. Kerns said.  The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the event.

Jessica Lurkins, RN is the company’s Care Coordinator, and as they move to a new headquarters, she is proud of how far they've come. “It’s remarkable how many seniors we've been able to help in our three years.  I’m proud of the work we do.  We go to work every day with the explicit goal of improving the quality of life of Chattanooga’s seniors,” she said, “and it’s very gratifying.”
